Commentary:

Sometimes at my workshops we bring paint and create a paint-wall; while some of the choristers are singing others are painting what we are singing - and sometimes, as with this song it is the other way around; we are singing what others are painting...

In a two-day workshop we were rehearsing "Father of the Fire" or " The Spirit is my home", a song about the four elements. As we sang one of the workshop-participants, Catharina Thorsell, painted a beautiful picture of a "tree of fire" standing in water and with the air moving in its crown.

Underneath she wrote four words: " Vågvaggad, Eldfödd, Luftlyft, Trädburen" ["Wavecradled, Fireborn, Airlifted, Treeborne]

That night I woke up early with a new song in my head: "Vågvaggad"! The words of Catharina had been supplemented with some additional lyrics and music. I quickly wrote it down and the same afternoon we were singing it next to Catharina's tree!
